Zoho Software Engineer interview: written C, Java, and coding rounds

My process started with a written, pen-and-paper round that mixed aptitude with C and some Java. It had a 10-question coding and output section, another 10 questions on IQ-style reasoning, and a full hour to complete everything.

A short coding round followed with a handful of problems that felt more straightforward than the later work. The questions used common patterns such as arrays and pointer logic. They included merging two already-sorted sequences into one sorted result, finding the most frequent element, and identifying the top frequencies. The third round was a longer coding portion where pace and edge cases mattered more. I also noticed some question patterns repeated across the written and coding sections.

Overall, it felt moderately challenging and strongly rewarded solid fundamentals.

Location: Chennai. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
