  1. Behavioral round: standard behavioral questions and conversation.

  2. Coding: simple coding with no algorithms involved. Calculate moving costs for different items based on their volume and category.

  • The follow-up was how I would implement this in production. I talked about turning it into classes and then discussed object-oriented design.
  1. System design: design Shazam, a system that identifies a song from a recording. The discussion had three sessions.
  • Session 1: how to implement the core functionality and design.
  • Session 2: if weekend user queries reach 100k, how would the system scale up?
  • Session 3: how would the pipeline for adding new songs work? If this service also reached 100k QPS, how would you design it?
  1. App design: bike and scooter rentals. Bikes come in small, medium and large sizes; scooters come in gas-powered and electric versions.
  • The queries to implement and the system requirements were in the attachment.
