United Auto Credit Software Engineer interview: canceled London round

My second-round interview became one of the worst interview experiences I have had. I was asked to come to the London office and paid more than £100 for the train. Communication already felt broken: nobody in the office had my email, and the person responsible for updates went on holiday, so I could not reach anyone for about a week before the interview.

They called about an hour before the scheduled time and canceled while I was outside the office. I later learned that one of the two interviewers was sick. I pushed to reschedule that day, but the replacement had not really read the role and the other interviewer also seemed unprepared for what I had applied for. The questions were framed like an internship screen but were unexpectedly advanced, including CI/CD concepts, even though I expected something closer to the job description.

After nearly three weeks with little real response, I did not receive an offer. What stayed with me was the lack of care in the logistics and information handling, along with the technical mismatch.

Location: London, England. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
