Squarepoint Data Scientist Interview Experience — Six-Question OA With Rotating Questions
OAInterviewed 2025-12
Squarepoint's OA has 6 questions total. The first four are probability, statistics, and reading a piece of code to analyze its time complexity. The fourth question gives a scenario and asks which kind of bias in statistics the scenario describes. None of these are hard — you can finish them in 5-10 minutes or even faster.
The last two questions are coding. The first one is easy: a store has n different items, and an array quantity[i] gives how many of item i are left. The price of each item is just how many of it are left (its quantity). Now there are m customers in the store, and each customer buys one item. The store wants to maximize revenue — what's the maximum possible revenue? The second one is a bit harder, a DP problem, roughly LeetCode medium level, and it seems like other companies' OAs have had similar questions. I don't remember the exact details anymore, but it was kind of like an elementary-school math-competition problem involving permutations and combinations.
Squarepoint's OA seems to rotate questions — I've heard other people got different ones. Also, you have to get everything right on the OA to move on to the phone interview.
