One early step was described as a quick verification call with the recruiter. The system design exercise was supposed to be simple rather than elaborate. I also got an HTML parsing question, with guidance to focus on the main objective and avoid adding extra operations because there wouldn't be time to expand the problem. Overall, they seemed to want clear execution without overcomplicating things.
