Phenom Software Engineer interview experience

The interviews began smoothly and felt friendly, especially in the panel setting. Still, the questions were more demanding than I expected. Discussions of my experience made clear they wanted more than surface familiarity.

In the final assessment, the feedback turned on system-design fit. That surprised me because it did not seem strongly aligned with what I had demonstrated, and it felt made up rather than like a transparent criterion. I was frustrated because the process had seemed to be going well before the late shift in the decision.

I did not get an offer. Being on good terms with interviewers did not necessarily lead to consistent evaluation or clear reasoning.
