Hays Technology Consultant interview: contract role changed to stage

A Hays Technology recruiter contacted me about a stage placement even though I had applied for a contract position. When I declined the internship option, the recruiter said they would check whether a contract was possible and update me.

That update never came. I tried to contact them, but the only eventual response was a LinkedIn message with no meaningful follow-up. My calls and messages went nowhere. The posting itself had not made the stage or internship mismatch clear, which made me feel misled from the start.

I did not move forward to an offer. I left frustrated: the communication was not merely inconvenient to me, it felt unprofessional and ethically wrong.

Location: Germany. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
