There were four rounds total. The questions themselves weren't that hard, but the bar was high.

Tech Execution: Write a dropdown component. I'd suggest looking at a UI library's props beforehand, something like Ant Design. In this round you need to pay attention to reusable design, controlled vs. uncontrolled, and so on. There's no way you can finish a full production-ready dropdown in an interview, so you need to explain what would be needed in a real production scenario that you can't cover in the interview — for example, automatically adjusting the dropdown content placement when it hits the edge of the screen.

System Design: They gave a screenshot of a trading system UI prototype and had me design the frontend architecture — framework choice, UI library, state management, error handling, loading animations, performance, and security. Then there were follow-up questions. This is probably the round I failed on. I didn't cover things thoroughly enough.

Domain Deep Dive: Talk through a project you've worked on before, drawing diagrams while presenting. One thing to watch out for — the scope you pick needs to be big enough, or it's all wasted. After you finish there are follow-up questions too.

HM: Nothing special about this round, just behavioral questions.
