New here, sharing my fresh interview experience from the last few days. Gotta say, ByteDance's efficiency is really something — for every round, I got notified I passed just 3 hours after the interview ended. Want to ask everyone on the forum: what should I watch out for in the +2 skip-level manager interview?

  1. Product Manager round (very short, ~15 min questions)

    1. Self-introduction
    2. My most successful project
    3. Difficulties in the project, and how I solved them
    4. Where the requirements came from
    5. How priority was determined
    6. Reason for leaving my current job
    7. Introduced the department
    8. My questions for them
  2. LD round (45 min)

    1. Self-introduction
    2. Deep dive into projects
      1. What I was responsible for in Project A
      2. Since Project A didn't have much depth to it, we moved on to Project B
      3. What I was responsible for in Project B
      4. Where the requirements came from
      5. What features Project B had
      6. The scale of Project B
      7. How I solved the difficulties
      8. Priority
    3. Personal strengths and weaknesses
      1. Reason for job-hopping
      2. Why I've switched jobs so frequently
    4. Introduction
    5. My questions for them — asked about the roadmap, and how they see themselves
    6. They said I seem like a pretty good fit for the team, but flagged one small issue — I didn't directly answer some of the details, and they hoped that in future interviews, if I mishear or misunderstand a question, I should just ask for clarification instead
    7. They asked specifically which parts I hadn't answered and had me fill in the answers
    8. Also asked whether I know how to write a PRD
  3. LD +1 (skip-level) round scheduled for next week
