Burns & McDonnell Software Engineer interview: video prompts and recruiter chat

After connecting with recruiting, the process felt manageable and slightly casual. I first completed a video pre-screen with a small number of prompts displayed on screen. It was just me answering, with little back and forth.

Next came a virtual recruiter conversation lasting about 30 to 45 minutes. It was mostly behavioral and focused on my background and fit. The recruiter was genuinely nice, and the exchange felt more like getting to know the person behind the resume than a high-pressure interrogation.
