I spoke with a recruiter and, about a week later, took an online assessment with coding challenges, a work simulation, and behavioral questions about Amazon Leadership Principles. It felt deliberately structured to test both my thinking and how I would operate in a role.
Then came technical screening and a multi-round virtual loop. Data structures, algorithms, and system-design basics drove the technical conversations, but I also had to connect my answers to Leadership Principles throughout, including on coding and systems questions. Interviewers kept returning to impact, ownership, and tradeoffs.
I did not get an offer. The process still felt professional and coherent, with consistent expectations from assessment through the loop.
Location: United States. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
