Alten Delivery Centre Spain Software Engineer Interview Experience: a backend task and disorganized client preparation

They contacted me on LinkedIn even though I hadn't applied. HR described a more one-time process and said my profile would stay in their database for future opportunities even if I decided not to continue. It sounded simple at first. In practice, it took much longer and was less organized than they'd led me to expect.

I started with an HR screen and an interview with a backend technical lead. That went well. I then completed a backend task with a five-day deadline and met the same lead again to explain my implementation and decisions. I had a positive impression of that part, especially the professional tone.

Communication broke down afterward. Two HR contacts seemed out of sync about both my application status and what I'd already completed. I later had a React-focused frontend interview without another assignment. Then I was told I'd meet the client, Carrefour.

The preparation call with an Alten commercial representative was a bad experience. They joined late and kept sending messages during our conversation, making it hard to prepare. The client interview was the most concerning part of the process. I didn't receive an offer. The technical evaluation had been well put together, but the timing and coordination of the overall process felt out of control.

Location: Rabat. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
