I passed an online assessment with coding and behavioral questions tied to Amazon Leadership Principles, then moved to in-person interviews.
The hiring-manager interview was mostly behavioral, covering leadership principles and my previous experience and projects. Near the end, I received a system-design coding problem. It surprised me by combining implementation with design decisions. I then met a lead engineer and another engineer for more technical rounds. Their LeetCode-style questions required me to explain my thinking, solve under time pressure and discuss the solution.
Reaching the final round gave me a real boost, although I didn't get an offer. What I remember most is how little time the technical work allowed and how clearly I needed to explain both design trade-offs and the impact in my behavioral stories. Jargon wasn't enough.
Location: United States. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
