Account Executive interview at Lowe's Home Improvement: preferred-candidate impression

From the start, I felt as if I was going through motions. The manager and assistant manager were casual with one another, as though they already had an internal or preferred person in mind. A part-time posting remained online after my interview, which reinforced my impression that they were collecting interviews rather than openly comparing candidates.

I did not receive an offer and felt I had never been the real target. The most frustrating part was spending time on an interview when the decision seemed already made.

I would have preferred transparency if the choice had been preselected, rather than continuing interviews while the posting remained active.
